Nov. 18 QBTalks features Intuit Accountant Suite, ProConnect and more
Join us on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM Eastern for QBTalks when representatives from both the Intuit Accountant Suite and ProConnect Tax teams join Murph and Dr. Christine Gervais, from Insightful Accountant’s Tax Practice News to cover the connectivity between these two Intuit platform solutions.
At Insightful Accountant’s September edition of QBTalks-Apps, we gave you a comparison of Intuit’s various professional tax (Lacerte, ProSeries and ProConnect) products. We’ve also been telling you for months (seems like years) that Intuit will be sunsetting QuickBooks Online Accountant in favor of Intuit Accountant Suite.
While QBO-Accountant has had a rudimentary form of connectivity between it and ProConnect Tax, it was just a simple transfer of data, more than a true synchronization. But both the ProConnect Tax and Intuit Accountant Suite teams have been working to bring you something truly beneficial to both Accountants using IAS who do taxes with ProConnect, and ProConnect Tax Preparers who have clients with QuickBooks files accessible through their Accountant’s Intuit Accountant Suite.
A new Tax Overview dashboard within Intuit Accountant Suite provides all the IAS Clients that are also ProConnect Tax clients along with information about the status of each client with respect to their returns (by return year and type). You can also initiate a Tax Engagement from this Dashboard choosing the type of return(s) that need to be prepared. As the Administrator you can assign your team members to the tax ‘preparer,’ ‘reviewer,’ and ‘approver’ for each such tax engagement.
Continuing in this light, you can open the client’s ProConnect tax return in IAS, and IAS then shows that you are inside ProConnect tax within IAS. This kind of feature functionality is made possible only by the unified platform that eliminates context-switch and data silos, making the accounting, books close, tax return preparation, review, approval and filing easier than ever before.
In addition, Intuit presented moving beyond ‘tax returns’ to tax planning by incorporation of Intuit Tax Advisor into this mix allowing tax advisors to turn both financial and tax data into client-ready tax plans. And because of the connectivity between IAS and ProConnect, along with the ability to look at current year books, advisors can spot potential savings and advise their clients all year, not just at filing.
If all of this sounds too good to be true, then I suggest you join us, for “Intuit Accountant Suite and ProConnect Tax Connectivity” at our next QBTalks on Wednesday, November 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM Eastern.
