New Client Advisory Services Foundation Curriculum for ProAdvisors

As we told you a few weeks ago, Intuit has initiated a new ‘Client Advisory Services’ curriculum within the ProAdvisor Academy.

The curriculum (which Intuit calls a ‘learning path’) is designed to bolster your core accounting skills, develop proficiency using the Intuit platform, deepen your understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), enhance your communication skills, and develop a clear understanding of key financial statements.

On completion, you will earn a new badge recognizing your achievement, and also be eligible for CPE.  And yes, if you are wondering, every hour of instruction or CPE you receive when completing this curriculum can be applied to the Top ProAdvisor Awards Application for the year in which you complete it.*

The curriculum is made up of:

  • Intuit Bookkeeping Certification: Bookkeeping basics, interpretation, and analysis of financial statements.

  • QuickBooks Online Certification – Level 1: Formerly called, and still commonly known as ProAdvisor ‘core’ (basic) certification. By the way, if you have already 'completed' QBO-Level 1 certification, you will notice in the "learning path" header your own learning path will already show it's completed.

  • AI for Accounting: New training that explores what AI is and how it’s changing the accounting profession. It also digs into the AI Agents within Intuit’s QuickBooks platform. (We previously advised you that there was a new curriculum for Artificial Intelligence made up of two courses, and those have been rolled-up into this CAS curriculum.)

  • Communicating to build trust: This course focuses on establishing trust with your clients through confident and empathetic communication.

  • Analyzing and Interpreting Financial Reports: This course develops your skills in analyzing key financial statements, their purposes, and the interconnection between them. The emphasis is on what these reports reveal about a business.

While we have no information about how this new curriculum will be aligned with regard to ProAdvisor 'points for tiers.' I suspect that it will have a significant point value given the emphasis Intuit is placing on both 'Advisory' skills and 'Firm' training, education and team building.

As far as I could tell in researching this new curriculum using my own login to gain access to the ProAdvisor Academy, all of the new courses are now accessible from your own ProAdvisor login. Good Luck should you decide to 'go for it.'

Footnotes and Disclosures:

* - if you complete a portion of the curriculum during one 'awards process year' report those hours or CPEs during that year, you can not carry-over hours or CPEs from one 'awards process year' into the following 'awards process year.' You need NOT complete all portions of the curriculum to report individual course hours/CPEs for award consideration; however, you must have completed a specific course in order to report the training hours or CPEs for that course.
