What You Told Us - Recent Survey Results

Over the last few months, we've been collecting result from a couple of surveys. The first is your responses regarding Intuit's offering of Bookkeeping Certification. The second is your preferences regarding Inventory/Manufacturing Apps.

Intuit Bookkeeper Certification and Related Certifications

Just over 60% of those of you responding indicated you like Intuit offering 'Bookkeeper Certification' to ProAdvisors.

While almost 19% of those responding were able to 'test out' of the Intuit Bookkeeping course, 81% either didn't try to test out or were unable to. Approximately 10% of respondents reported they were currently going through the 28-hour Bookkeeper training to prepare for certification. 22% of respondents told us they had already earned the Intuit Bookkeeping certification. Collectively, that means about 1/3 of our respondents have either gotten certified or are on their way to hitting that goal.

When we asked what our respondents thought about the course content, an overwhelming majority either thought it was 'great' (35%) or thought it was "just about right" (20%), and a few (10%) replied "it covered the basics." Apparently, Intuit has the content pretty well down to what the majority of you Pros (collective: 65%) consider the basics or better.

When we ask if you planned on earning Intuit's new "Client Advisory Services 'Graduate' status" a whopping 59% of our survey respondents told us "Yes," but only 12.5% told us they had "already earned" Graduate status.

But what surprised us most was in response to our question about "having ignored Intuit's Bookkeeping certification and/or CAS Graduate training." Almost 42% of you told us you 'had ignored' these new ProAdvisor training opportunities, apparently until they took our survey.

We greatly appreciate the valuable input that those participating in this survey provided.

Inventory/Manufacturing App Preferences

In another survey we asked you to tell us about your preferences when it came to Inventory and Manufacturing Apps. I must admit that I was surprised, especially by the initial question.

When given a list of thirty-eight (38) Inventory/Manufacturing (plus the option of 'other') apps to choose from, a clear majority (69%) selected Cin7 Inventory as their preferred solution. Fishbowl came in second (39%), Katana and MISys tied for third (31%). But, almost as many of our recipients (30%) optioned for that 'other' answer, and the vast majority listed those alternative Apps, giving us the need to consider them in our editorial focus in the future.

I was impressed by the survey result reporting that 54% are currently, or have been, 'certified' in one or more of the Inventory/Manufacturing Apps you are using.

The next survey question results held very close to similar questions we asked our 2024 and 2025 Top 100 ProAdvisors regarding App selection criteria, specifically, "When seeking out Inventory/Manufacturing Apps (or software), which criteria do you consider most important." Accuracy at an average score of 9.0 just barely beat out both Configurability and Ease of use which tied for second place at a score of 8.92. Ease of implementation was next at 8.85 followed by Reputation at 8.54.

Once again, we thank everyone who participated in this revealing survey regarding your Inventory/Manufacturing App preferences.

Surveys like these provide a wealth of information to those of us here at Insightful Accountant and help to mold the editorial content and focus of our coverage.

Thanks again,

Murph
