QBTalks-Apps - A Realm By Any Other Name
Insightful Accountant will premier our new QBTalks-Apps Show on January 7, 2026 at 2:00 PM Eastern. The theme of this show is "A Realm By Any Other Name."
Yes, we know that title is a play-on-words for William Shakespeare's phrase, "A Rose by any other name"1. It's just another example of the magic Murph will perform when he morphs a QuickBooks Online Accountant realm into an Intuit Accountant Suite realm, clients and all. In this first-ever edition of Insightful Accountant’s New QBTalks-Apps series, Murph will be discussing QuickBooks Realms.
The first goal of this webinar is to ensure that participants understand what a ‘Realm’ is in QuickBooks Online and the differences between a unique (primary) realm, multi-tenancy realms, and multiple realms. The second goal is for participants to understand the links that exist within the QuickBooks Online environment and ecosystem that are based on realms. And the third goal is to explore the concept and practical aspects of ‘realm consolidation’ as necessitated by the adoption of Intuit Accountant Suite over QuickBooks Online-Accountant.

(Illustration of a multi-realm QBO-Accountant based firm with numerous team members, attached services, and clients attached to more than a single realm.)
Various Intuit representatives have skimmed through the process of 'realm consolidation'. In three different presentations on the topic, Murph observed that each of the presenters took a different approach to the subject, and followed somewhat different steps, mostly dependent upon the amount of time they had to cover the subject. The shorter the time, the fewer (or more condensed) the steps.
Well, during this webinar, Murph will take you through an actual demonstration of the process for transitioning from QBO-Accountant to Intuit Accountant Suite by illustrating the (1) planning for realm consolidation, (2) preparing the target realm that will become the seat (primary realm) of your IAS, (3) migrating client (source) realms to the primary (target) realm of your IAS seat, (4) performing post-migration clean-up, and (5) beginning work under the new IAS platform.
Just like the great magician, Harry Houdini, you will witness Murph perform a metamorphosis.
"No", Murph isn't going to change from "grump to nice guy", escape from a water torture cell, or disappear into thin air.
Rather, he will make an actual QBO-Accountant realm turn into an Intuit Accountant Suite realm right before your eyes.
Oh sure there will be some PowerPoint talking points(like the tremendous illustration above, which nobody has ever seen before in the history of this planet) with enumerated steps to help you recreate the magic trick, but the main difference is that you will see for yourself that it's possible to transform your QBO-Accountant based firm into an Intuit Accountant Suite firm.
So, join Murph for this bit of magic... we promise that he won't grab any gold coins from behind your ears, or pull rabbits out of a hat. (Although he probably should earn a Penn & Teller 'Award' for his presentation.)
