Next Wednesday's QBTalks: Intuit Accountant Suite, plus IA's Extra
Next Wednesday, I will be hosting our April 22, 2026, 2:00 PM (Eastern) QBTalks to discuss Intuit Accountant Suite, the soon to be replacement for QuickBooks Online Accountant. Kaitlyn Wilchynski and members of her IAS team will join me as we cover, ‘what’s new in IAS.’
Intuit Accountant Suite (IAS) has been designed as the replacement for QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA). It is an AI-powered platform designed to help accountants manage their clients’ accounting and tax requirements, as well as their own firms (regardless of size) within a single solution. It offers features like team member level assignment of roles, activities and clients.
While Intuit has already rolled-out the 'Beta' version of IAS, this Summer they will begin transitioning all instances of QuickBooks Online-Accountant to the new IAS platform that gives you the business tools and AI-powered workflows you need to boost efficiency, streamline operations, and make more confident decisions, all in one application.
Intuit Accountant Suite is being offered in two different plans. The first, called 'Core', is free to accountants, bookkeepers and ProAdvisors. It offers a variety of Intuit Intelligence (AI) based features as well as customizable Home and alerts, chart-of-account templates, role-based access and controls, and more. The second plan called 'Accelerate' is paid subscription version offering improved efficiency and streamlined operations at scale, it costs $149/month (as of July 1, 2026).
Either the 'Core' or the 'Accelerate' plan can be supplemented with 'Books Close' that lets firms standardize and streamlines the close process of their clients' financials. Starting July 1, 2026, firms with fewer than 50 clients onboarded to Books Close will pay $8/month per client; firms with more than 50 clients onboard to Books Close will pay $6/month per client.
Intuit plans to begin transitioning QuickBooks Online Accountant users to Intuit Accountant Suite, if they have not already voluntarily implemented IAS under the Beta offering, starting in July (2026). By the end of 2026, Intuit Accountant Suite will have replaced QuickBooks Online Accountant.
When your transition comes, your only question will be, are you going to stick with the 'free' Core-version of Intuit Accountant Suite and miss out on a whole lot of other IA-based technological capabilities, or are you going to opt for the 'paid' Accelerate-version. And in either case, are you going to onboard some of your clients to the Books Close.
So, while the transition to Intuit Accountant Suite won't necessarily be up to you, unless you do enroll in 'Beta' between now and July 1, 2026, the IAS version and add-on functionalities s are up to you.
Insightful Accountant's webinar on June 22, 2206 will help you do that by thoroughly explaining the various service and pricing options.
During our QBTalks, members of the Intuit Accountant Suite team will join us. Kaitlyn Wilchynski, a Senior Product Manager who holds an MBA has brought her expertise to both the QuickBooks Online-Accountant and Intuit Accountant Suite product teams. She will discuss IAS and how it can enhance your practice and talk about some of the more recent updates along with features we can expect to see over the next few months.
Like all new things, it takes time to get use to them... that's why the 'Beta' option for checking out Intuit Accountant Suite affords you the opportunity to prepare yourself for the changes that are headed your way. And if you have questions, next week's QBTalks will will give you the opportunity to ask members of the IAS team your questions about new features and functions, pricing and transitioning from QBOA to IAS.
To qualify for this free 1-hour of CPE, participants must attend a minimum of fifty (50) minutes of the webinar "Main event" and must answer a minimum of three (3) CPE polling questions based on the stated learning objectives set for the webinar.
