Getting Ready for Intuit Accountant Suite

Are you ready to transition from QuickBooks Online Accountant to Intuit Accountant Suite? This article discusses resources that are available to help prepare you for the transition.

Intuit Accountant Suite (IAS) is the new AI-powered platform that will replace QuickBooks Online Accountant, by year’s end. So, now is the time to switch from QBO-Accountant to Intuit Accountant Suite while in Beta so you can explore all the options for ‘free.’

On July 1, 2026, the ‘Accelerate’ version of IAS will become paid subscription only, while the ‘Core’ version remains free to ProAdvisors. Shortly after, Intuit will begin converting everyone using QBO-Accountant who has not already migrated to IAS and those users will be converted to the free Core version.

In addition, those already using the optional Books Close add-on will begin paying $8.00 per month per client they have attached to Books Close if they have fewer than 50 such clients, or $6.00 per client per month if they have more than 50 clients attached to Books Close.

Intuit recognizes that the transition from QBO-Accountant to IAS represents a significant shift in your personal and firm investment in how you manage your client’s accounting, but it provides direct access to clients' QuickBooks files within IAS without having to switch to the client's QBO, and so many more features to help you manage those clients’ accounting and tax requirements.

In order to help ProAdvisors transition to the new platform, Intuit is offering six new courses within the ProAdvisor Academy that cover the major aspects of this change. These new courses cover areas of the migration process, managing client, managing your firm and team members, upgrading from ‘core’ to (the optional) ‘accelerate’ version, client insights, and maximizing use of the Books Close (optional add-on).

The following bullet points provide a better description for each of these new ProAdvisor Academy courses.

  • Switching from QuickBooks Online Accountant to Intuit Accountant Suite: Helps you guide your team through key changes to the interface and the core workflows you’ll use in Intuit Accountant Suite.
  • Managing your clients in Intuit Accountant Suite: Shows you how to organize your client list, set up custom fields, and use the Customer Hub to streamline your day-to-day client management.
  • Managing your firm and your team in Intuit Accountant Suite: Guides you through Work, firm-level tools, and the Manage training dashboard so you can support your team and keep work moving.
  • Moving to Intuit Accountant Suite Accelerate: Walks you through upgrading to the optional ‘paid subscription’ version of IAS, grouping your clients, and assigning role-based access at scale to support your growing firm. Examines additional features available in the Accelerate version.
  • Using Intuit Accountant Suite for client insights: Helps you use Client Insights, anomaly detection, and Intuit Intelligence to surface meaningful trends and data across your firm.
  • Books Close at scale with Intuit Accountant Suite: Walks you through your end-to-end Books Close workflow using this new optional add-on tool so you can manage multiple clients efficiently and consistently. Note: You determine the clients you wish to attach to Books Close, and you are only charged for those clients per month. You are not required to attach ‘all’ your firm’s clients to Books Close.

All of these courses at ProAdvisor Academy are self-paced, and you can take some or all of them as you prepare for a smooth transition from QBO-Accountant to the new Intuit Accountant Suite.
