Breaking News: Intuit Hears Customer Concerns Over Tags

Intuit has announcedthat they "have heard your (QBO customers) feedback and they (Intuit) will NOT be removing the tags feature."

As a result, users of QuickBooks Online can continue to utilize the tags feature and generate tags reports seamlessly, without any interruptions to normal operations.  Additionally, customers still have access to custom fields.  Custom fields now support sales and expense forms; each custom field supports 100 values within a dropdown format.

As part of Intuit's ongoing product enhancement efforts, they will periodically review all features in relation to future updates."

Intuit told their customers, "Rest assured, we will keep you informed of any changes that affect you."

This reversal of the tags feature sunset, scheduled for the 15th of May, means you won't need to take any action. You can continue to access tags as you usually do.

Supplemental Information:  Insightful Accountant has received a copy of an additional email2 with supplemental information regarding the 'sunset of the tags feature.'  While the April 30, 2025 email referenced above advises that Intuit will not be removing the tags feature (for existing customers using tags), this additional May 1, 2025 email specifies that NEW customers or existing customers who are NOT using tags will not have access to tags (going forward).
