Zamp Announces Global Launch of Zamp OS-Operating System of Sales Tax

Zamp today announced the global launch of Zamp OS, the Operating System of Sales Tax.

The company has raised $30 million in total funding, with the latest round led by Acrew Capital with participation from Thomson Reuters Ventures. Several of Zamp's accounting firm partners also invested directly in the round.

75% of U.S. accountants are expected to retire in the next 15 years. Firms can't hire their way through it — and the compliance workload isn't slowing down. Zamp OS is how they scale. The platform is the first vertically integrated sales tax platform where accounting firms offer fully managed sales tax compliance to their clients without building their own dedicated practice. 120+ accounting firms use Zamp, including Withum, Anchin, Frank Rimerman, Larson Gross, Iron Clad, Crew Finance and more — with 97.8% client retention in 2025.

"Thomson Reuters Ventures invests in innovative companies that align with our strategic objectives and the markets we serve. In accounting and tax compliance, firms are facing a talent shortage and the work is not slowing down," said Tamara Steffens, Managing Director, Thomson Reuters Ventures. "Zamp has built a vertically integrated platform where AI agents empower tax professionals to work fast and guarantee the outcome together. That's the infrastructure layer this industry has been missing, and we are thrilled to work with the Zamp team as they lead the way."

Zamp OS is not just a software platform. It owns the outcome. Every filing, every registration, every notice, every jurisdiction — if Zamp gets it wrong, Zamp covers the penalty. The company can make that guarantee because it uses AI agents to deliver a better outcome at each step of the compliance process — across filing, tax research, data normalization, and notice management — with Zamp's in-house tax and legal experts overseeing the entire operation. When you control the data, the agents, the human judgment, and the execution end-to-end, you can guarantee the result. That's what separates an operating system from an app.

"Three years ago we were only a managed service. Today, we're an operating system — and the difference is infrastructure," said Rohit Bhadange, CEO and Founder of Zamp. "We source our own tax data. We own every workflow. We deploy agents across every step with tax professionals there when it matters. That's the part people get wrong about AI. It doesn't replace the team. It gives them leverage. That's why Acrew Capital and Thomson Reuters Ventures are backing us to scale globally."

“When we evaluated the tax compliance landscape, most of the new entrants were building automation on top of third-party data — the same approach the incumbents use, just with a modern UI. Zamp took a fundamentally different path. They built their own tax data layer across 12,000-plus jurisdictions, own every workflow from registration to filing to notice management, and pair AI agents with real tax professionals at every step. That vertical integration is what separates infrastructure from software — this approach provides higher-fidelity outcomes for customers and a durable long-term advantage for Zamp, which is why they can guarantee the accuracy of every filing they touch," said John Gardner, Partner at Acrew Capital.

Since launch, Zamp has remitted over $300 million in sales tax, completed more than 100,000 on-time filings, and handled over 75,000 notices with 99.97% filing accuracy. Zamp now has sales tax coverage in 100+ countries and has increased output per compliance resource by 12x — capacity that goes directly toward helping firms manage more clients with fewer people as the profession faces its biggest talent shortage in decades.

EY's 2025 Tax and Finance Operations Survey found that tax professionals spend 45% of their time on data gathering and wrangling before compliance work even starts. Zamp's agents eliminate that bottleneck. The platform ingests historical filing data, messy spreadsheets, and multi-state records — cleans and validates them automatically — and gets new clients live in days instead of weeks.

Sales tax has traditionally been a black box — files go in, filings come out, and firms have no idea what happened in between. Zamp OS opens that box. Partners and clients see every step, every decision, every status change in real time. Firms access the platform three ways: embedded directly into their own product under their brand, through Zamp's partner dashboard with full visibility across every client, or via Zamp's MCP — which gives firms direct access to compliance status inside their existing tools and AI workflows.

"As an advisor who works closely with taxpayers navigating the complexities of sales tax, we consistently recommend Zamp. Their deep expertise, responsiveness, and unwavering commitment to supporting Withum's clients make them an exceptional partner. Zamp's team goes beyond compliance — they provide the clarity and confidence our clients need in an increasingly complex tax environment," said Courtney Easterday, MSA, SALT Senior Tax Manager, Indirect Tax at Withum.

Zamp's partnerships team is led by Matt Grattan, SVP of Revenue, who led Avalara's e-commerce team before its IPO and served as VP of Sales at TaxJar before its acquisition by Stripe.
