Update about QuickBooks Bank Feed Changes

Written by William Murphy | Apr 9, 2026 2:30:00 PM

Intuit is rolling out their newest rendition of Bank Feeds to QuickBooks users on May 8, 2026. We previously reported that Intuit had indicated the 'opt' for existing Bank Feeds would come to an end at the time of the transition.

Intuit has now reported that the 'switch-back' (to the current version of Bank Feeds) will continue to be available for a limited time in order to give users and their Advisors (accountants, bookkeepers and ProAdvisor) time to adapt. Intuit will advise users of the termination of the switch-back option in advance of its removal.

Users of QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Ledger, QuickBooks Online-Accountant, Intuit Accountant Suite and Intuit Enterprise Suite will all see the transition to what Intuit is referring to as 'high-speed bank feeds' which they first introduced last July.  Since that time, Intuit has made multiple enhancements to address user reported issues including 'parity gaps' between this new Bank Feed and the previous (current) one.

The new bank feed offers 'faster performance', thus the name "high-speed bank feeds." It also offers in-line editing without having to open each transaction to edit names, categories, and classes. Full bank details are as simple as hovering over the transaction row.

AI-power is employed to suggest vendor names and transaction categories and when QuickBooks determines 'confidence is high', it pre-fills the field(s) for you to review. For most QBO subscription levels, transactions coded with 'high confidence' are grouped together so they can be posted with a single click.

Bank Feeds is working in the background, which means that transactions post without you having to wait for QuickBooks to download and process them for your approval or edit. And, when you do decide to work on Bank Feeds, you can streamline the process with user defined columns you find most beneficial. You can also add documentation to transactions with drag and drop, and much more.

Overall, the new Bank Feeds are designed to streamline your banking workflow and save you and your client's time. Even so, Intuit has heard your feedback and extended the time you have to adjust to the look, feel and experience of the new Bank Feeds by continuing the 'switch-back option.'

See, 'feedback' does work... so keep it up.   And let us know what you think about the new Bank Feeds by posting your comments to this article.
