Why are 56% of Accountants, Bookkeepers and ProAdvisors procrastinating about switching from QBO-Accountant to Intuit Accountant Suite?
At least, at last week's Intuit ProAdvisor In The Know webinar, less than 44% of those Accountants, Bookkeepers and ProAdvisors attending reported that they were currently using Intuit Accountant Suite. That means that 56% either tried it and went back to QBO-Accountant (how could you?), or they haven't tried it yet (bad, bad, bad), or they had not even heard of Intuit Accountant Suite (are they living in an underground bunker somewhere?).
Obviously, none of you, our Insightful Accountant readers could have been among the 4% who hadn't heard of it. Afterall, we've published a dozen or more articles about Intuit Accountant Suite since it was first released to the ProAdvisor community.
And I've been encouraging you to 'try it out' for more than the last six months, so I can't understand why you have not taken the opportunity to do so. You've been told, by Intuit and us, that Intuit Accountant Suite will replace QBO-Accountant as of December 31, 2026. In other words, you are going to be starting your new year with new software... at least if you tried it, you would know what to expect.
As for me, I will be going with the 'Accelerate Plan' starting January 20, 2027. And since I've been using Accelerate already, I will get a 50% discount off the $149/month price for all of 2027. I will even be adding some of my 'test QBO files' to 'Book Close' just so i have "hands on" feature access to write about. But I suspect that hundreds of thousands of QBO-Accountant users will end up with the Intuit Accountant Suite 'Core Plan' that is free to ProAdvisors (soon to be called 'ProPartners' by Intuit).
I'm also betting that once you 'try' Intuit Accountant Suite you will stick with it... personally I think Intuit made it too easy to 'go backwards' to QBO-Accountant from IAS.
No, if you give it a chance you will realize that Intuit Accountant Suite has "ALL" (100%, every single one, all of them) of the features available in QBO-Accountant. Oh, they may be rearranged in slightly different spots, just like the newest QBO, contrasted with the last one of 7 months ago, but they are there but also better Client Management, Team Training and Certifications, Integrated Tax Prep when your clients returns are on ProConnect Tax, and 200 AI prompts per month powering Intuit Intelligence. And you can always put your best loved features under 'your favorites' and you will know where they are every single moment of the day and night so you can sleep tight.
And with that said, just imagine at the last minute of December 31, as the clock ticks to what should be the perfect New Years' Eve party and kiss under the mistletoe, you are having to 'kiss QBO-Accountant' goodbye because it's being sunset on the first minute of the first hour of the new year. What kind of New Years' Day will that be?
You will be hustling to try to get the migration done, your realms consolidated, your team members invited, all your clients moved from every other QBO-Accountant you've been connected to, 3rd-party Apps reconnected, and payments, bill pay, and more all working because you procrastinated and didn't try it out early and accomplish a successful migration within minimal disruption. And now, think about doing that with a few hundred thousand other QBO-Accountant Procrastinators trying to do the same thing... "talk about nightmare on New Years'..."
So, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume you were on that very special extended holiday vacation last January 7th, or perhaps your honeymoon, or celebrating some festival in another part of the world, when I hosted our QBTalks-Apps session called 'A Realm By Any Other Name.' and I went step-by-step live through the process of converting from QBO-Accountant to Intuit Accountant Suite, including consolidating multiple QBO-A realms into your single IAS subscription, inviting users, migrating clients and their attached Apps, etc., etc., etc.
Insightful Accountant will be making the recording of that QBTalks available, along with the printed materials in the near future, and if you didn't attend but you're interested in seeing it, just provide us your information in the 'Comment section' below.
Say goodbye to QBO-Accountant early and "hello, Intuit Accountant Suite." I'm betting after a few hours of earnestly embracing it, you will be telling yourself... "It's love, at last."
