Murph takes a look at the new SuiteCloud AI Connector Service

Written by William Murphy | Oct 16, 2025 4:45:00 AM

SuiteCloud is a customization and integration platform with built-in extensibility, designed to help organizations fit NetSuite into their unique business model and ecosystem. Built to meet the needs of software developers, application administrators, and ISVs, SuiteCloud extends native suite functionality, securely integrates with external systems, and optimizes the end-user experience to run business at maximum efficiency.

SuiteCloud’s unified collection of technologies include their new AI Connector Service. This new integration service enables organizations to select the AI models that best fit their business needs, define the data they can access, and govern how the models interact with NetSuite.

Built on open standards, including the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the new AI Connector Service provides a secure way to connect NetSuite with external AI assistants and agent platforms and includes Standard and Custom MCP tools. To help align outputs with a customer’s policies, standards, and language, NetSuite plans to introduce Custom MCP prompts that enable administrators to design prompts guiding external assistants on how to respond.

The SuiteCloud AI Connector Service is a new standard for AI-ERP integration. While most ERP vendors are adding AI as fixed, embedded features, NetSuite is taking a platform-first approach by introducing a protocol-based, extensible architecture. This approach allows structured, governed, and developer-defined interactions between ERP and external AI systems. It establishes a new benchmark for what enterprise AI integration should look like—secure, flexible, and open—and puts pressure on other vendors to rethink their approach.

The new AI Connector Service represents a foundational step in making NetSuite a highly intelligent, extensible, and AI-ready ERP. Through the new service, the NetSuite ERP is the first major ERP to support agent-based automation and is fully open to the agent ecosystem, enabling integration with third-party AI agent platforms.

The service is important because it:

  • Enables developers to define precisely what their AI system can see and do, with full permissions and role-based access
  • Supports multiple assistants and agent platforms in a standards-based way, allowing for a “bring your own AI” model
  • Turns complex AI-ERP integrations into modular, reusable SuiteApps, streamlining deployment and lifecycle management
  • Aligns AI integrations with NetSuite’s existing extensibility model, eliminating the need for risky workarounds or shadow IT.
  • Allows partners and ISVs to build, package, and monetize AI-driven SuiteApps, creating a new category of intelligent ERP extensions

Instead of bypassing technical teams with closed AI features, NetSuite is empowering SuiteCloud developers and partner ecosystems with the ability to use custom MCP Tools and the SuiteCloud MCP Server to create a new category of intelligent ERP extensions with No limits (the theme of SuiteWorld 2025).

The new AI Connector Service provides customers with long-term flexibility and choice. By supporting “bring-your-own-AI” and an extensible, protocol-based design, NetSuite ensures that its customers gain the freedom to select the AI models and platforms that best align with their evolving needs. This approach enables customers to adapt quickly as technologies advance, ensuring continuous innovation on their terms. Furthermore, customizations built and deployed with these technologies automatically carry forward with every new product release, ensuring that customers are never subject to version lock.
