Keeping You in the ProAdvisor and ProPartner Loop

Written by William Murphy | Aug 31, 2026, 4:44:59 AM

Intuit is retiring the ProAdvisor Program after nearly 30 years to make room for something new. While ProAdvisor focused on individual software certification, the new ProPartner program will empower entire firms through expanded rewards, future-focused education, and a connected community.

The ProPartner program is being built natively within Intuit Accountant Suite (IAS) to reward firms of all sizes through partnership with the Intuit platform. This new program will be free and open to any accounting, bookkeeping or tax professional that uses Intuit products to provide services for their clients.

In early 2027, ProPartner will be officially launch and the ProAdvisor program will be sunset. Intuit is committed to a transparent transition between the two programs and will provide regular updates, milestones, and guidance throughout the lead-up to the 2027 launch.

To become a member, you need to sign up for the free Intuit Accountant Suite. To reach a tier higher than the Member tier, your firm will have to maintain at least one active certification per year (on QuickBooks Online Level 1, QuickBooks Workforce (aka: QuickBooks Payroll), or Intuit Enterprise Suite) and have at least one client on QuickBooks Online or Intuit Enterprise Suite. Trial clients and QuickBooks Ledger clients (as well as trial subscriptions) will not qualify for this requirement.

As I mentioned earlier, ProAdvisor will be sunset in early 2027 and with that sunset the existing ProAdvisor tiers will be replaced by the new ProPartner tiers of Member, Partner, Preferred Partner, Premier Partner, and Elite Partner. Point requirements range from 50-199 points for Preferred Partner status to more than 1000 points for Elite Partner status. We will provide the link to a resource with more details toward the end of this article.

After the new program’s launch, firms will be able to move between tiers by earning points based on their ‘product spend,’ ‘connected Intuit software clients,’ and ‘completed certifications’ by their team members. For example, for every $100 of revenue under management (the combined spend of your firm and all attached clients for QBO, QB-Workforce, QB-Time, QB-Bill Pay and Intuit Enterprise Suite, the firm will earn 1 point. Firms can earn 5 points per team member certification, up to a maximum of 20 points per year firm wide. Again, more details can be found in the resource at the end of this article.

As with the ProAdvisor Program, the new ProPartner Program will offer a variety of benefits ranging from ‘free’ QBO-Advanced and Workforce Elite to the Find-a-Pro listing. Revenue share percentages for Intuit products will vary by tier level. Of course, training and certification opportunities will also remain free to all tier levels.
