Workflow management and practice management are related but distinct concepts. And while all practice management ‘tech’ should include workflow functionality, most workflow management ‘tech’ does not include practice management capabilities.
Practice management encompasses the administrative and operational tasks needed to run a business including professional firms like accounting, bookkeeping, or consulting.
Workflow management, on the other hand, focuses on the specific steps and sequences involved in completing a particular task or process within a business.

In our July’s QB Talks, we will examine Aero Workflow, FloQast, Jetpack, Monday.com, Trello, Uku, XBert, and Xenett. I’m happy to have Debra Kilsheimer back with me this month as we review this group of Workflow Apps.
Our analysis includes feature areas like (but not limited to) AI-assisted functionality, Audit trail, Reminders/Notifications, Calendar view, Checklists, Collaboration, Document mgmt., Mobile access, Reporting/Analytics, Task mgmt., Templates, Time-tracking, and Integrations.
We will also be looking at factors like, price, interface customization, support, and Insightful Accountant’s key ranking factors generating an overall score for each App.
But that’s not all, Debra will certainly be giving you her unique style of ‘down to earth’ opinion on the topic of workflow vs practice management.
QB Talks will be July 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM Eastern. If you’re already registered, you will get the typical Zoom reminders sent to you one week, one day, and one hour prior to the show.
