July's QB Talks: Workflow App Comparison

This month at Insightful Accountant's QB Talks show, Debra Kilsheimer and I will provide a "Comparison of Workflow Apps" that work with QuickBooks and Xero. The show will be held on July 16th at 2:00 PM Eastern.

Workflow Apps usually focus on the specific steps and sequences involved in completing a particular task or process within a business, and most are not explicitly designed for accountants or bookkeepers. We will examine Aero, FloQast, Jetpack, Monday.com, Trello, Uku, XBert, and Xenett.

Typically, these solutions are designed for your clients; however, some solo accounting or bookkeeping firms may choose one of these apps for their use if they find Practice Management apps too costly for their needs. So, even though you might consider one of these workflow solutions for yourself, 'workflow' functionality is one of many features you should find within ' Practice Management Apps'. 

In exploring these eight Workflow Apps, we compared features like AI-assisted functionality, Audit trail, Reminders/Notifications, Calendar view, Checklists, Collaboration, Document management, Mobile access, Reporting/Analytics, Task management, Templates, Time-tracking, and Integrations. However, those aren't all the features we will discuss. 

We will also consider price, interface customization, support, and Insightful Accountant’s key ranking factors, including Ease of Implementation, Ease of Use, Support, Configuration/Customization, Reputation, Automation Capabilities, Functional Performance, and Price. All of these key ranking factors lead to the generation of an overall score for each App.

In addition to these functional and analytical comparisons, Debra will provide her ‘down-to-earth’ 👍yea or👎nay opinions on these Apps. At the same time, I will review my significant 😊likes (pros) and 🙁 dislikes (cons) for each of these Apps.
