In a story from [***Business Insider***](https://www.businessinsider.com/), Intuit CEO Sasan Goodarzi explains Intuit, which owns [QuickBooks®](https://quickbooks.intuit.com/), [Turbo-tax](https://turbotax.intuit.com/), [Mailchimp](https://mailchimp.com/) and [CreditKarma](https://www.creditkarma.com/), has managed to avoid mass tech layoffs. 

Goodarzi goes on to say that the nearly 300,000 staff laid off by other tech firms since the start of 2022 (per [Layoffs.fyi](https://layoffs.fyi/)) came down to those companies misunderstanding the pandemic.

The number of total Intuit employees actually rose from 13,500 in 2021 to 17,300 as of July of 2022.
