Intuit has announced pricing around Intuit Accountant Suite, as well as changes surrounding QuickBooks Online Accountant and the discontinuation of the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program in favor of the new 'global' Intuit ProAdvisor Program.

Last October, Intuit made several announcements about Intuit Accountant Suite and future changes planned for QuickBooks Online Accountant and the Intuit ProAdvisor Program. The following summarizes just release updates related to product availability, pricing and timelines.

Intuit Accountant Suite

Intuit Accountant Suite has two plans, a Core plan and the Accelerate plan. Both the Core and Accelerate plans are currently free while they remain in 'Beta' status. Users of these products can also add the Books Close feature to both plans at no cost while Books Close remains in 'Beta' status as well.

The Core plan includes key functionality available today in QuickBooks Online Accountant but offers a modern design and navigation. Intuit is committed to continuing to offer firms with QuickBooks clients, access to the Core plan at NO cost. The Accelerate plan and Books Close add-on feature will transition to a paid subscription offering as of May 1, 2026. The Core plan will remain free. Intuit will not switch firms onto the Accelerate plan unless they’ve opted in to that plan prior to May 1, 2026.

Intuit Accountant Suite Timeline:

April 30, 2026:

  • The final day of the free Books Close beta program.
  • The final day of the free Accelerate beta program.
May 1, 2026:
  • The Core plan remains free.
  • Pricing for the Accelerate plan goes into effect. This pricing is $149 per month. Access to Books Close for the Core and Accelerate plans require the purchase of Books Close add-on.
  • Pricing for Books Close goes into effect as an add-on for the Core and Accelerate plans. Books Close pricing is based on client’s onboarded to Books Close. The rate is $8 per client per month for firms with up to 50 clients (onboarded to Books Close), or $6 per client per month for firms with over 50 clients (onboarded to Books Close).
QuickBooks Online Accountant

Intuit will discontinue QuickBooks Online Accountant and replace it with Intuit Accountant Suite. Firms using QuickBooks Online Accountant will be transitioned to the free Core plan starting between the summer and December 2026. Intuit will not switch QuickBooks Online Accountant accounts into the Accelerate plan unless their primary admin opted in to do so.

Intuit will provide more details in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition to Intuit Accountant Suite. Intuit's priority is to create a seamless, positive experience for QuickBooks Online Accountant users and minimize downtown.
