AvidXchange releases B2B Payment Trends Survey

AvidXchange released its B2B Payments Trends survey findings. Across all industries, we’re seeing a widespread adoption of electronic payments. However, many mid-market businesses have yet to fully implement these changes across their accounts payable operations.

The findings come from 500+ finance leaders in the mid-market. Among the findings, only 63% of mid-market organizations mostly or only exclusively use ePayment and 47% have no formal payment strategy in place. This underscores that businesses without formal accounts payable payment strategies miss opportunities to modernize payments, increase financial value, and improve strategic decision-making.  Other key insights include:

  • 80% of mid-market organizations capture cash back or rebates through card and ePayment programs

  • Finance teams are prioritizing digital payments to improve processing efficiencies and strengthen security/fraud prevention

  • Limited technology/automation infrastructure and a lack of real-time visibility are the top obstacles preventing AP teams from contributing to broader corporate strategy

BDO launches 2026 Audit Innovation Survey

BDO has launched its 2026 Audit Innovation Survey, revealing that while 99% of finance leaders use AI to inform core audit judgments, only 49% can fully document and substantiate those outputs.

Demetrios Frangiskatos, BDO’s Assurance National Managing Principal, is available to discuss the research findings, including how finance teams are increasingly using AI in high-stakes calculations while auditability and documentation practices struggle to keep pace, as well as:

  • Finance leaders rely on AI for cash flow and earnings forecasts (62%), tax provisions (55%), and asset valuations (54%).

  • Less than half (49%) have the processes to defend all AI-assisted outputs, while 46% acknowledge notable documentation blind spots.

  • 47% are already piloting or deploying autonomous AI agents in finance, and 46% are evaluating them—rapidly outpacing data governance.

Superglue joins ITA as Silver Technology Partner

Superglue has joined the Information Technology Alliance (ITA), a member organization of consulting, value-added reseller (VAR), and CPA firms, as a Silver Technology Partner. The partnership makes superglue's AI-agent approach to ERP implementation available to ITA members.

Superglue provides agentic ERP implementations in which AI agents perform discovery, data mapping, conversion, and system configuration, then hand consultants a migration to review, refine, and deliver to the client. Each implementation is added to a repository called the "Company Brain," which captures the firm's methodology and internal knowledge for reuse across projects. A consultant must approve every step before anything moves to production.

Geni Whitehouse, President of ITA, noted that extracting data from legacy systems is members' most common challenge.

VARs have traditionally grown by hiring staff or acquiring teams. superglue proposes scaling delivery capacity with agents, making implementation knowledge reusable, and building recurring revenue through new service lines, with the expected result of more efficient delivery and growth without additional headcount. The agents work like an additional team member, drafting the statement of work (SOW) and project plan and then executing it, with access to project management tools, meeting recorders, email, and Teams for scope context.

Migration packages have been an early success, such as moves from Dynamics GP to Business Central or Sage Intacct. superglue reports support for migrations from more than 1,000 systems. Multiple firms using superglue report work that previously took weeks now takes hours. Superglue expects agentic delivery to become standard for VARs and said superglue intends to build this approach with ITA's members. You can learn more about superglue at more at www.superglue.ai.
