I know what you are thinking, Sage 50 has been around for your entire accounting or bookkeeping career, but this Sage 50 is different.
Over the years, Sage 50 (which was at one time ‘Peachtree’) has made a lot of transitions. First, it was a desktop client. Then, Sage added a cloud-drive to allow you to put your data in the cloud but still use your desktop Sage 50. Next, came the option to have Sage 50 hosted in the cloud, essentially a remote desktop kind of operation.
But now, Sage 50 has been modernized into Sage 50 Cloud, a full online platform that gives you access anywhere, on any device in a secure fashion.
Let’s look at some of the key features and benefits of this new Sage offering.
Of course, right along with those features is the financial reporting designed to keep you aware of your business in real time.
Cloud functionality also means that you have access to a wide-range of applications to enhance and supplement your business operations. This includes a number of Sage Add-ons ranging from Payment processing to Invoice payments, and more. You can also find numerous 3rd-party solutions that integrate fully with Sage 50 Cloud at the Sage marketplace.
And Sage 50 Cloud is now poised for bigger and better things than ever in the past. I’m talking about ‘Agentic AI’ to streamline and simplify the work requirements surrounding your business.
“Upgrading Sage 50 into the cloud is about much more than accessibility—it’s about helping small businesses prepare for the future and leapfrog to the AI era,” said Neal Watkins, Executive Vice President, Small Business & Accountants Division, Sage. “This first step removes the pain of servers and updates, makes collaboration easier, and sets the stage for AI-powered tools like Sage Copilot, agentic AI workflows, and our new Sage Copilot mobile app.”
If you are currently using another software vendor’s accounting, you can migrate your data to Sage 50 Cloud. In fact, Sage offers free data migration to Sage 50 Cloud for most QuickBooks versions. Sage offers personalized migration guidance via dedicated support to assist you with as smooth a transition as possible.
Save 50 Cloud is offered in three versions. For small businesses just starting business, the ‘Pro’ version is geared for a single user needing accounting basics like income management, invoice tracking, payables, and payments, plus things like job tracking, inventory, and purchase orders.
You can tack on a payroll subscription if you are paying your own people.
The ‘Premium’ version of Sage 50 Cloud provides everything in the Pro version, plus advanced budgeting, serialized inventory tracking, multi-company consolidation, and more. It supports up to 5 users.
Growing small businesses may want to step up to the ‘Quantum’ version of Sage 50 Cloud which offers support for up to 40 simultaneous users. Of course, it includes all the features found in ‘Pro’ and ‘Premium’ along with greater security throughs sophisticated user permissions. It also offers project management, workflow processes, and much more.
And with all these enhancements and upgrade to ‘the cloud’, Sage still offers a ‘desktop’ version of Sage 50 if that’s really what you want.
If you are exploring options and considering migration from your current accounting software, whether you want desktop or cloud, now is as good a time as any to reach out to Sage and take a look at Sage 50. You can sign-up for a weekly demonstration webinar, or even start a free trial of Sage 50 Cloud Premium, risk-free to see how it supports your small business.
