App Aware: Forwardly

Written by William Murphy | Feb 27, 2026 5:45:00 AM

App Aware is a free editorial feature of Insightful Accountant offered to the App Developer community. These features not only promote a developer's app(s) but help make our readers aware of new FinTech designed for the small-to-medium business market. Today's App Aware is about Forwardly, an app which can manage both A/P and A/R.

Forwardly is a modern business payments platform that helps businesses and finance teams manage accounts payable and receivable in one place. Instead of juggling emails, spreadsheets, and bank portals, Forwardly centralizes bills, invoices, approvals, and payments into a single system designed to reduce manual work and improve visibility. Accounts Payable, or Accounts Receivable, Forwardly manages them both.

Bills and invoices can be uploaded or emailed directly into Forwardly, where a business-specific AI-powered inbox reads the documents, extracts key details, and matches them to the correct vendors or customers. From there, payments route through configurable approval workflows, so the right people review and approve each transaction without back-and-forth or delays. Everything stays in sync with leading accounting platforms, keeping records accurate and reconciliation simple.

Once approved, payments can be sent instantly, same day, next day, or by standard bank transfer, or paid by card, giving businesses control over timing and cash flow. Forwardly also supports automated payments, secure vendor onboarding, and audit-ready tracking, helping growing teams scale their financial operations with confidence.

Forwardly’s AI Working For You

The Forwardly AI-native financial platform has engineered to modernize how small and medium-sized businesses manage their money. By embedding intelligence into the payment lifecycle, the platform automates bill capture, coding, and approval routing. This system allows finance teams to move away from administrative tasks and focus on higher-value growth initiatives and overall run leaner teams with less manual effort and human error.

The Forwardly Business Network (FBN) is Forwardly’s specialized ecosystem designed to solve the issues that plague modern B2B transactions. Unlike traditional payment tools locking users into a specific accounting ecosystem, FBN is built on a unique technology that bridges the gap between different accounting and ERP platforms, such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, and other leading software, allowing a sender and a receiver to stay perfectly in lockstep even if they use entirely different software. We will look more closely at Forwardly’s integration with QBO and Xero later in this App Aware article.

By prioritizing this connected network, Forwardly functions as a universal translator for financial operations. It allows growing companies to scale their vendor and customer relationships without worrying about software compatibility or administrative overhead. With a transparent, pay-as-you-go pricing model that makes it universally accessible to businesses and supports faster payment options, this award-winning platform is ready to serve US small and mid-sized businesses.
