New Square Connector by QuickBooks

Because Insightful Accountant reviewed Intuit’s previous Connect to Square App as one of the apps in our eCommerce App Comparison within the last year, and scored that App below many others in the comparison, we wanted to let you know about recent enhancements to the Square Connector made available by Intuit for QuickBooks Online users.

This new Square Connector app replaces the previous QuickBooks App “Connect to Square.” The new "Square Connector by QuickBooks" App still integrates Square data with QuickBooks Online, but also lets you auto-import all of your Square transactions within a few hours of the transactions occurring.

You can then view all of the transaction details within Payout, where the view provides details at the payout level and also allows you to view the transactions included in the payout.

The new App will save time by automatically importing Square sales transactions and other data into QuickBooks. The updated App allows you to:

• Import Square transactions into QuickBooks within a few hours of their occurrence

• See the details for every Square transaction in Payout 

• Track product information against the list in QuickBooks

• Track fees separately
• Import transaction details for better visibility

• Use AI automation to add high-confidence transactions to your books

Users will also find these additional features in Square Connector:

• Sync and track sales tax
• Set tasks and reminders to review transactions
• Review details on adjustments, including holds and disputes
• Examine activity summaries of transactions in the Overview tab within Apps
• Gain visibility on matching transactions to products, services, customers, and vendors

In the future, users of the new Square Connector will be able to:

• Accept 'split-payments' on a single order
• Use "Square Checking" features
• Optionally import Square transactions at a "summary" level
