During Intuit Connect ON this week, Intuit outlined a series of product innovations, platform enhancements, and strategic commitments designed to help accounting professionals scale their impact, deepen client relationships, and thrive in the era of artificial intelligence.

The announcements reinforce Intuit’s commitment to keeping accountants at the center of the small business ecosystem while delivering new AI-powered tools, workflow automation, and practice management capabilities across the Intuit platform.

Here’s a summary of what was shared during the June 23, 2026, virtual event.

Accountants Remain Central to Intuit’s Strategy

In his keynote address, Intuit CEO and Chairman Sasan Goodarzi emphasized three key decisions:

    • placing accountants at the center of Intuit's platform strategy,

    • building a shared system of intelligence that connects businesses and advisors, and

    • investing in accountant growth through AI, automation, data, and integrated platform capabilities.

Product Enhancements Driven by Accountant Feedback
Intuit highlighted a series of workflow improvements based directly on customer feedback, including faster platform performance, improved bank feed accuracy, enhanced transaction matching, customizable bank feed views, account locking capabilities, and automated PayPal transaction matching.
Additional enhancements include purchase order creation from sales orders and expanded KPI scorecards and dashboards for QuickBooks Essentials and Plus customers, supporting firms’ advisory services.

Evolution of the QuickBooks Platform

Intuit shared information about the expansion of its QuickBooks product lineup with new offerings for startups and early-stage businesses: QuickBooks Free and QuickBooks Lite. The company said the changes are intended to deliver a more integrated, AI-powered experience while helping businesses access automation and insights earlier in their growth journey.

New Direction for QuickBooks Live

Responding to accountant feedback, Intuit announced it will no longer market bookkeeping services to accountant-attached businesses. The company also plans to create a unified collaboration platform for accountants and their clients.

Intuit Experts will focus on onboarding new businesses and helping customers adopt the platform more effectively. Over time, Intuit envisions building a network that connects growing businesses with accounting firms as advisory needs become more complex.

Greater Control for Accounting Professionals

Intuit reaffirmed that accountants remain at the center of their client relationships. Upcoming enhancements will provide additional visibility and controls over Intuit-led activities, while AI-driven onboarding and auto-categorization capabilities are introduced with accountant oversight in mind.

New Intuit ProPartner Accountants Launching in 2027

Intuit ProPartner Accountants, a new program scheduled to launch in early 2027, is replacing the current ProAdvisor Program. The program will introduce a five-tier framework focused on firm growth, revenue opportunities, training and certification, community engagement, and practice development resources.

Intuit Accountant Suite Becomes Firm Hub

Intuit showcased continued investment in Intuit Accountant Suite, positioning it as the central operating platform for firms. New capabilities include multi-tab, cross-portfolio client insights and a firm templates builder designed to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.

AI-Powered Portfolio Intelligence Arriving in August

Beginning in August, Intuit Intelligence will introduce Cross-Client Portfolio Insights within Intuit Accountant Suite Accelerate. The feature will proactively surface KPI alerts and financial issues across multiple clients while enabling conversational analysis across client portfolios.

For business owners, new conversational business intelligence capabilities will support real-time financial analysis, cash flow forecasting, and scenario planning. Intuit emphasized that all AI-driven actions will be recorded in an audit trail for transparency and accountability.

Custom Skills to Automate Recurring Workflows

Also arriving in August, Custom Skills will allow accountants and businesses to create automated workflows using natural language prompts. Firms will be able to convert recurring tasks into scheduled automations, reducing manual effort and increasing consistency across engagements.

Custom Skills will include centralized management, pre-built templates, customization options, and comprehensive audit logging.

Enterprise Capabilities for Complex Clients

Intuit Enterprise Suite continues to expand for firms managing larger and more complex organizations. The platform offers consolidated entities, live KPI monitoring, and pre-configured AI agents.

Upcoming enhancements include data-seeded sandbox environments, faster migrations from QuickBooks Advanced, and new industry-specific editions for sectors including franchises and nonprofits.

Looking Ahead

Collectively, the enhancements shared during Intuit Connect ON underscore Intuit’s broader strategy of combining AI, automation, and human expertise to help accounting professionals operate more efficiently, strengthen advisory relationships, and deliver greater value to clients.
